3/3/10: Quakertown High School band welcomes Awesome student teacher! We are very pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Peter Zimmer, a senior Music Education Major from Moravian College, beginning on March 15, 2010. Mr. Zimmer brings a wealth of experience to our students. Check out the May 13 concert to see Mr. Zimmer’s debut on the podium with the Concert Band and Symphonic Band.

2/17/10: Five Quakertown students qualify for PMEa Region-State Band. Ashley (french horn), Kirk (tuba), Joel (euphonium), Greg (bass clarinet), and Selena (alto clarinet) completed the re-audition process at Lower Merion High School on Feb. 13. All five students are moving on to Region Six Band to be held at Philadelphia’s Northeast High School, from March 25 - 27, 2010. Selena, Greg, and Joel finished in first place in their respective sections. CONGRATULATIONS!

11/10/08: “Panther” Marching Band wraps up great season with third place finish at National Championships!!! The QCHS “Panther” Marching band traveled to Annapolis, Maryland on Saturday to compete in the US Scholastic Band Association National Championships. The event featured 100 bands from the United States, performing their final show of the year. Quakertown competed with schools from North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

Congratulations to our students for their THIRD PLACE finish!!! The Quakertown band finished with their highest score, ever at 96.75!! The band had a very successful season, locally, as well. QCHS finished in first place at the Northeast PA Regional, the Hillsborough, New Jersey show, and the USSBA Preview of Champions. The band also captured their first PA State Championship last month.
